I have declared that 2019 is all about living my best life and that includes helping you to obtain the Best Skin you’ve ever had.
When I think about last year and all of the lessons life taught me, the biggest truth that I learned was to put myself first. I have finally figured out that if I am going to get to the next level in my life and business, I had to learn that I deserve to be first and I have to show up for me every time.
Showing up for myself includes developing a routine that I can do every day, to get one step closer to my personal and business goals, being consistent, trusting the process and not being a sucker for the “get rich” quick schemes.
So, in thinking about you and your skin goals, here are a few things you should start doing today.
Develop your own skin care routine or seek professional help from a licensed esthetician.
How many of you use hot water and a face cloth or dove soap (or any other body bar) as your skincare regimen?
In 25 years of doing skincare, I have found that when people know better…they do better.
So, think about it like this.
If you are at a restaurant and are served food on a plate that had just been washed with hot water, would you eat it? 😬
Using a body bar on your face is really doing too much! Body bars contain deodorant as an ingredient, because, bodies can smell. I have never known a person to have a smelly face, have you? 😲
I talk to many skin care clients on a daily basis, and more often than not, they have never considered what they should be doing as a morning and night routine.
I totally understand, as there are so many products, resources and services to choose from, it can be overwhelming.
It can be difficult going from not having a routine to a full-fledged skincare regimen with cleanser, toner, scrub, mask, moisturizers and more. If that’s the case, I suggest using a great cleanser and sunblock (which doubles as a moisturizer), once in the morning, and once at night.
Just as with anything in life, consistency is key.
Being intentional and consistent for 90 days will lay the foundation for a routine, that will get you the ultimate “glow up” you desire!
“It’s not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives. It’s what we do consistently.” – Anthony Robbins
Along with getting into a rhythm of having a skincare routine, you also need to be patient and trust the process to get your expected results.
In today’s world, everybody wants what they want, right…now, the faster the better. While that may work with some things, reaching your skin goals can take time. Do your homework when it comes to new techniques that are being advertised as the “quick way” to fix or enhance your skin. And, if ever in doubt, if it seems too good to be true…it probably is.
Live your best life and enjoy healthy, glowing skin by getting a skincare routine, being consistent and trusting the process.
